Deprivation and Poverty

Deprivation is associated with poorer health outcomes, higher levels of disability and often an increase in risk-behaviours that will further impact on health, such as smoking. This section focusses on understanding where there are pockets of deprivation within the local area to ensure that action can be put in place to reduce the gap between the poorest and most affluent areas. It also includes information on other aspects of deprivation, such as poverty and fuel poverty.
